GLTN vision and mission • The vision of GLTN • To provide appropriate land tools at global scale to implement pro-poor land policies and land reform. • The mission of GLTN • To work with GLTN partners to assist members states at global level in implementing land policies that are pro-poor,gender sensitive and at scale.

  3. Expected outcomes of the programme • To increase knowledge around issues of transparency in land administration and share experiences within and outside the Southern Africa with a view to gaining skills in how these issues may be tackled • To stimulate thinking on specific actions that can be taken • To draw lessons for the next courses

  4. Approach • Bring together ‘upstream change agents’ from different disciplines including civil servants, local government leaders, civil society leaders, and academia. • Use a case study method and problem-solving to explore realistic examples throughout the 3-day programme. • Provide input from multi-disciplinary expertise of ITC and UN-HABITAT staff through a number of different sessions. • Facilitation throughout the programme.

Programme-Day 1 (Tues. 27 May) • Informal welcome and introduction to the program (9:00 – 9:15) • Self introduction and ground rules (9:15 – 9:45) • Session 1: Land governance and transparency (9:45 -10:30) Coffee break (10:30-11:00) • Session 2: Short case studies presentation and reflection (11:00-11:45) • Plenary discussion (11:45-12:30) Lunch (12:30-13:45) • Session 3: Assessing transparency in land administration (13:45-14:45) Coffee break (14:45-15.15) • Official Launch by Minister of Lands (15:30 -16:45) • Group photograph (16:45-17:00) • Cocktail (17:00-18:30)

Programme-Day 2 (Wed. 28 May) • Session 4: Access to information and public participation (9:00-10:00) • Session 5: Professional ethics and integrity (10:00-11:00) Coffee break (11:00-11:30) • Session 6: Institutional and organizational reforms (11:30-12:30) Lunch (12:30-14:00) • Session 7: Long case studies group work (14:00-15:30) Coffee break (15:30-16:00) • Presentation and analysis of case studies (16:00-17:00) • Guidance on action planning (17:00-17:30) Networking dinner - Requires registration with Jane (18:30-21:30)
