Wide-band Feeds Development G. Sankar

Explore the development of wide-band feeds with a focus on the Sankar Band frequency range of 250-500 MHz. Compare measurements of a standard cavity-backed dipole with Pranjal's design utilizing a smaller diameter cavity. Simulated and measured radiation parameters are evaluated, along with the potential for improved bandwidth at 327 MHz. Available choices for implementation and budget estimates are also discussed. Long-term goals include developing "light-weight" designs for 550-800 MHz and a new L-Band feed design with cryogenics.
