  6. It’s about a group of people WORKING together to reach a common goal or vision.

  8. More Teamwork at School

  9. Teamwork Just Having Fun Might Look Like....

  10. Teamwork Lessons and the Canada Goose • Have you ever noticed that geese fly in a V formation as a team working together?

  11. Fact #1 • As each goose flaps its wings it creates an “uplift” for the birds that follow. By flying in a “V” formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.

  12. Lesson #1 Applied • People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.

  13. Fact #2 • When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front of it.

  14. Lesson #2 Applied • If we approach a task like the goose we stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others.

  15. Fact #3 • When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into the formation and another goose flies to the lead position.

  16. Lesson #3 Applied • It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership. As with geese, people depend upon each other’s skills, capabilities, gifts, talents and resources.

  17. Encouragement Looks and Sounds Like... • “You can do it!” • “Great job!”

  18. The Benefits of Teamwork • You can help to accomplish important tasks. • You can add your talents to those of others to create bigger and better things than you could alone. • You are seen as cooperative. • You know how to get along with others.
