  2. The Problem • Reality gap between the size on the label and the actual fit • Variation of sizes from one country to another • Online shopping only provides general measurements • Excess returns=drop in profit • Product loss or excess product

  3. The Solution: Virtusize • http://vimeo.com/49443031 • Created in Fall 2011 • Currently, Virtusize is used by consumers in over 100 countries • Comparison of garments: visual illustration of the two garments to show the comparison of fit • Allows you to test different sizes • Leads to fewer online returns: up to 50% • 86% of users prefer Virtusize over standard size charts

  4. My Experience with Virtusize

  5. My Experience with Virtusize

  6. Retailers Using Virtusize • Currently, most of the retailers aren’t very well-known U.S. retailers • ASOS, Acne, Zalora, Country Attire, Nelly, Regent Row “Customer response has been overwhelmingly positive.” –ASOS Product Manager “This helps us to stay ahead of the game in an increasingly competitive market.” –Regent Row Managing Director

  7. Strengths • Online consumers receive clothing that fits and don’t have to go through the hassle of returning clothing • You don’t have to order multiple sizes • Less returns for online retailers • Personalized experience for online consumers • Limits the cost of returns and shipping for retailers

  8. Weaknesses • The retailers mentioned don’t have the Virtusize technology for all of their products • Online consumers might not want to go through the trouble of measuring a piece of clothing they already have • Not very well-known in the U.S. • They need more man power to branch out and grow

  9. Opportunities • Expand to more well-known retailers in the U.S.: big and small • For retailers using Virtusize, include all of the clothing on website • To have more of a presence on social media platforms • Brand Ambassadors • Recruit interns and more employees around the world

  10. Threats • Swivel • Currently, Swivel is only in stores but is going live June 1st • Metail • Big retailers could create technology similar to this
