What Are They? • Cities with a population over 10m. • Megacities grow due because of economic growth, rural-urban migration and high rates of natural increase. • As cities grow the swallow up rural areas and other towns and cities nearest. • They become multi-nuclei centres with due to engulfing neighbouring urban areas and their CBD’s. • Some of these cities are larger than the populations of entire countries.

  3. Impacts • Environment. • Pollution. • Increased Resource Depletion. • Migration (Both in and out). • Tourism.
