  1. DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines • This slide show is intended to be a guideline for demonstrating the DCN Wireless system to customers. DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  2. General Information about the DCN Wireless Technology • Based on WiFi technology (802.11g) • The 802.11g specification is a standard for wireless local area networks that offers transmission over relatively short distances at up to 54 megabits per second • 802.11g operate at radio frequencies between 2.400 Ghz and 2.4835 GHz • In DCN Wireless there are 3 non overlapping carriers available. 2.412 - 2.417 - 2.422 - 2.427 - 2.432 - 2.437 - 2.442 - 2.447 - 2.452 - 2.457 - 2.462 - 2.467 - 2.472 - 0 1 2 2.400 - 2.484 - GHz GHz DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  3. Carriers & Channels • In the 2.4 GHz frequency range there are up to 13 channels available for wireless communication. • In DCN Wireless the following is applicable : • Carrier 0 = Channel 1 • Carrier 1 = Channel 6 • Carrier 2 = Channel 11 Ch 1 2.412 - Ch 2 2.417 - Ch 3 2.422 - Ch 4 2.427 - Ch 5 2.432 - Ch 6 2.437 - Ch 7 2.442 - Ch 8 2.447 - Ch 9 2.452 - Ch 10 2.457 - Ch 11 2.462 - Ch 12 2.467 - Ch 13 2.472 - 0 1 2 2.400 - 2.484 - GHz GHz DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  4. Demonstration 1 – Using a WiFi Seeker • You must make sure that adjacent wireless computernetworks do not use the same frequency range as thewireless network of the DCN. • A WiFi Seeker can be used to find out which Wireless LAN channels are active DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  5. Carriers & Channels Ch 1 2.412 - Ch 2 2.417 - Ch 3 2.422 - Ch 4 2.427 - Ch 5 2.432 - Ch 6 2.437 - Ch 7 2.442 - Ch 8 2.447 - Ch 9 2.452 - Ch 10 2.457 - Ch 11 2.462 - Ch 12 2.467 - Ch 13 2.472 - WLAN 0 1 2 2.400 - 2.484 - GHz GHz • In this example there is a Wireless Lan network which is using channel 3. Carriers 0 and 1 have an overlap with this channel. Therefore Carrier 2 must be used for DCN Wireless. DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  6. Carriers & Channels Ch 1 2.412 - Ch 2 2.417 - Ch 3 2.422 - Ch 4 2.427 - Ch 5 2.432 - Ch 6 2.437 - Ch 7 2.442 - Ch 8 2.447 - Ch 9 2.452 - Ch 10 2.457 - Ch 11 2.462 - Ch 12 2.467 - Ch 13 2.472 - 0 1 2 WLAN 2.400 - 2.484 - GHz GHz • In this example there is a Wireless Lan network which is using channel 6. Carriers 1 is using the same channel. Therefore Carriers 0 and 2 can be used for DCN Wireless. DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  7. Demonstration 2 – Quick Set Up • No need for different types of cables and antennas • The Wireless Access Point is connected to the Central Control Unit by means of our standard optical cable DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  8. Demonstration 3 – Mounting Brackets • Easy Wall and Ceiling mounting DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  9. Demonstration 4 – Battery Management • Seperate Battery Packs • Easy to replace during a meeting (or during a coffee break) • If you need to recharge the batteries at the end of the day, you can leave the units on table, recharge the batteries separately and easily place the batteries back into the units. This also saves a lot of time because you don’t need to change the synoptic view on your control PC DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  10. Demonstration 5 – Battery Management • Battery Capacity LED’s • To check the battery capacity of the battery pack. DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  11. Demonstration 6 – Subscription Mode • Subscription mode • Only units which are subscribed to the system in the subscription mode are part of the meeting. • ‘Unwanted’ units cannot participate the meeting from ‘outside’ during a meeting. Subscribed Subscribed Subscribed Not Subscribed DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  12. Demonstration 7 – Sleep Mode • Sleep Mode • To increase the timebetween charge of the batteries. • To save up to 50% battery time. • To avoid that people play with the units during a break. z z z z z z z z z z z z DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  13. Demonstration 7 – Sleep Mode • To Wake Up the units again set the transmitter to the ‘On‘ mode ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  14. Demonstration 8 – GSM Immunity • No cell phone disturbances • The wireless units are immune for GSM disturbance DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines

  15. Demonstration 9 – Headphone Volume Control • Individual headphone volume control • All Delegates can adjust their headphone volume individually - + - + DCN Wireless Demonstration Guidelines
