Counseling Counseling is the activity of the counselor, or a professional who counsels people, especially on personal problems and difficulties. counseling is defined as, "a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals."

  4. Psychotherapy Psychotherapy aims to improve an individual's well-being and mental health, to resolve or mitigate troublesome behaviors, beliefs, compulsions, thoughts, or emotions, and to improve relationships and social skills.

Family Counseling Family counseling brings together members of a family to work through situation or relationship issues.Concerns may include changes in family relationships, conflict, health issues, addiction or other. Counselors will help the family recognize their patterns, build on the positive and develop alternatives, providing all family members a voice in the process.

  8. OUR PROVIDERS Savitha Upadhya MD Psychiatrist Savitha Upadhya MD, Doctor of Medicine (Psychiatry), has been serving in our area since 2008 and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the North Carolina Psychiatric Society.

Rohima Miah MD Psychiatrist Dr. Rohima Miah received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in Anthropology/Zoology, her medical degree from The Ohio State University Medical School, residency training in psychiatry at the University of North Carolina School Of Medicine. Dr. Miah worked with Wake County Mental Health treating patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. She participated on numerous committees including pharmacy and cultural competency.

  10. Linda S Bell M.Ed,LPC Therapist Ms. Bell Master of Education (specialization in counseling), and Licensed Professional Counselor, has been serving in our area since 2005. Ms. Bell works with clients ages 12-65 facing a wide variety of mental health issues and/or those related to difficult life circumstances.
