  3. Holy Week • Triduum: Meaning three • Holy Thursday: Last Supper • Jesus gave us the sacraments of Eucharist and Holy Orders. • Good Friday: Crucifixion of Jesus • Liturgical color: red • Holy Saturday • Easter Vigil • Lighting of the Paschal Candle • Represents the risen Lord

  4. Paschal Candle A cross is cut into the candle Alpha- A, the first letter of the Greek alphabet is traced above the cross. Omega- Ω, the last letter of the Greek alphabet is traced below the cross. The year is traced between the arms of the cross. 5 grains of incense are inserted in the candle to show the 5 glorious wounds of Christ. Used at the Easter Vigil, baptisms, and funerals.
