  1. Zillow iPhone App

Launched April 2009 Press contact: Katie Curnutte, 206-757-2785 katiec@zillow.com
  2. Zillow iPhone App Have you ever driven by your dream home and wondered what would it take to live there? Are you currently shopping for a home or do you spend your weekends scoping out neighborhoods and open houses? Or do you just wonder what the neighbors paid for their home? That knowledge is now yours -- on the go, for free -- with Zillow’s new iPhone application. Zillow has information on over 91million U.S. homes – 95 percent of all homes in the country. Site traffic has grown to nearly9 million monthly unique visitors as homeowners, buyers and sellers search for real estate data and information. With Zestimate values and extensive data on all homes – not just those for sale – Zillow has become an essential tool to navigate and understand today’s real estate market. With Americans living an increasingly mobile lifestyle, Zillow created its iPhone app to satisfy the desire for real estate information exactly where and when people want and need it most – on location while scoping out homes and neighborhoods. 2
  3. About the Zillow iPhone App The Zillow iPhone app allows users to explore neighborhoods and homes on the go. The app uses iPhone’s GPS capabilities to let users locate themselves on a map and see Zestimates for surrounding homes. By touching homes on the map, users can go deeper and see Zillow’s rich data and information on ALL homes, not just those that are for sale. The GPS pinpoints where the user is on a map, and follows them as they walk or drive through a neighborhood. Downloads and Vibrancy: The Zillow iPhone App has been downloaded nearly 700,000 times since launch in April 2009 and is the number one real estate app in the iTunes store. 3
  4. Features in the Zillow iPhone App Map Search and GPS: The app uses iPhone’s GPS capabilities to let users locate themselves on a map and see Zestimates and additional information about the surrounding homes. Saved Searches: Users of the app can save searches based on filters they’ve applied and the geography in which they are searching. Email Capability: Email information about properties of interest to a real estate agent or friend. Favorites Tab: This additional tab allows users to view their saved searches and favorite homes. Users can edit their favorite homes by tapping this tab. Filtering: Users can filter their searches by price, number of bedrooms and bathrooms and listing type (for-sale, Make Me Move and recently sold). Push Notification: If there are new for-sale, Make Me Move or recently-sold listings added to one of the user’s saved searches, a number badge will appear on the app’s icon, indicating new data – even if the app isn’t currently in use. New results are shown in the favorites tab. Saved Favorite Homes: Users can now save individual homes to their list of Zillow favorites and easily access them later on the app. Reviewer note: To mimic the true location-based user scenario, Zillow’siPhone app is best used within a residential neighborhood. 3
  5. Map Search and GPS Every home has a Zestimate value on the rooftop. Touch the value on any home to learn more. This will open a bubble with home facts, and the ability to touch again to visit the full Home Details Page. Open the app, and allow it to use your current location. A blue GPS dot will appear, and it will follow you as you walk or drive around a neighborhood. 4
  6. Home Details Page and Email Capability Every home has a Home Details Page. This includes public record information about the home (number of beds/baths, square feet); Zillow’s proprietary Zestimate and value range, as well as a historical look at the value of the home over one, five and 10-year periods; information about the last sale of the home; and recent sales of comparable nearby homes (touch any of those to see the corresponding Home Details page). You can also save any home as a favorite or email a property of interest to a friend or real estate agent. 5
  7. For-Sale Listings For-Sale listings are represented by a red icon on the ZillowiPhone app. Touch the icon to reveal a bubble with the current asking price of the home, as well as some additional information. To view photos, contact information and other data for the home, touch the bubble to see the full Home Details Page. 6
  8. For-Sale Home Details Page For-Sale homes include the full Home Detail Page information, plus the listing price, slideshows of up to 50 photos provided by the seller, and contact information for the agent or owner selling the property. You can call or email the seller right from your iPhone, or email information about a property of interest to a real estate agent or friend. 8
  9. Push Notification The Zillow iPhone App will alert you of changes or additions to your saved searches with a number badge on the app’s icon – even when the app isn’t in use. When you access your “Favorites” tab, your notifications appear at the bottom. 13
  10. Make Me Move and Recently Sold Listings Make Me Move listings are represented by blue house icons. Exclusively on Zillow, Make Me Move homes reflect the price for which an owner would consider moving. Touch the home to learn more and visit the Home Details Page. Recently Sold homes are represented by yellow house icons, and designate those homes that have sold in recent months. Touch the bubble to visit the Home Details Page. 9
  11. Search Filtering Touching the “Filter” button in the top right-hand corner of any map page will bring you to a screen where you can toggle up or down the number of beds and baths, select the minimum and maximum price and select the type of home you want to see (for sale, Make Me Move or recently sold). Touch “Apply” to see only homes that fit that criteria on the map. 7
  12. Other Ways to Search If you want to quickly see the For-Sale, Recently-Sold and Make Me Move homes in the mapped area you’re searching, click on “List View” at the bottom of the screen. You can use this view whether using GPS or search mode. Even if you’re not in the area, you can type an address, neighborhood name, ZIP code or city name into the top search bar. Then navigate and explore just as you do when using GPS. 10
  13. Favorites Tab Access the “Favorites” tab on the bottom of the map and list-view screens. Once open, it gives you the option to select previously-saved favorite homes or searches. Touch any search or home to see more details. 12
