  2. The Task • The robot system will find and repair imperfections in a controlled environment • The environment in this task will be a black surface with white or colored spots as imperfections • Robots will use beacons to communicate where imperfections are found

  3. Applications – Conceptual Goals • One goal of this project is to demonstrate the concept of decoupling inspection and repair tasks • Robots are much better at cheaply inspecting environments, but repair can often be expensive and mechanically complex • Multiple simple inspection robots can scan an environment and flag areas for repair, and one repair robot can perform repairs
