  2. SUB-AREAS OF THE LÄHDE TYÖELÄMÄÄN PROJECT

  3. INTERNATIONAL PRACTICING/TRAINEESHIPS The aim of the sub-area “International practicing” in the project is: • To increase the volume and to improve the quality of international practicing of higher education students • In order to achieve this goal, SPRING to Work model has been created

  4. SPRING TO WORK –MODEL • SPRING to Work model is based on the cooperation between home university (the sending university) and the host university (a mediator university abroad) in the organisation of the international practicing process • Within the model the host universities act as mediators between the student/home university and the employer abroad as well as a contact point for the student/home university • SPRING to Work is a two way model as one university can be in both roles (home/host university) depending on the case Home University Student E-system / information exchange Host University Employer • The development work of SPRING to Work model is based on e.g. needs analysis of different parties

  5. SPRING TO WORK –MODEL – NEEDS ANALYSIS

  6. SPRING TO WORK –MODEL • In the centre of the model there will be an operational e-systemthat is used as a tool for communication between different parties, information source, material bank, intermediating companies’ work offers and students’ CV’s • The system is currently under development in HAMK and the piloting version of the system will be operational during spring 2012 Home University Student E-system / information exchange Host University • Sometimes a Work pair –model can be utilized during the practicing. This means that a native student will join the foreign studentand they will work together in the practicing place. • This decreases the amount of guidance needed from the employer’s side and also enables companies with less language skills to employ a foreign student Employer

  7. SPRING TO WORK –MODEL • SPRING to Work model has been introduced in several occasions to universities abroad in order to create the SPRING network of universities • Model will be piloted with a few pilot cases in cooperation with some cooperation universities during the project lifetime • The experiences of all parties participating the pilot cases will be collected and analysed and further development of the model, the clarifications of the roles and responsabilities of all parties will be done based on the results of the pilot cases • There will be pilots to both ways (foreign students to Finland, Finnish students to abroad)
