  3. Every morning starts with a fresh newspaper. Reading of Newspaper gives the detailed update of events to the reader. Television and New Media are giving immediate updates and reactions of every news. From newspaper to Television and New Media there is a need arises. That is magazine!

Gives opportunity to participate in content creation *Print Advertisements are effective than any other medium (source: Association of Indian Magazines) *In 2011-12, the advertising carried by the south indian media outlets was estimated at Rs.21,190 crores. Out of this, the print media hand the second largest share of 29%. (source: Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India-FICCI survey)

  6. Magazine market: Even though print media is facing hard times, Indian Print media market is surprisingly developing. The industry is projected to 15-18% growth (YoY) because of the increasing response of Regional language periodicals and increasing literacy rate.

  7. Ernst and Young says that the Indian Magazine segment has been on a steady growth way. As per it’s report in 2009, the sector reached INR 14.9 billion and will grow steadily. “The growth rate driven by Market entrants, New Titles and Alternate Revenue Streams.” When Lonely Planetmagazine was launched in 2010, Brett, Editor-in-Chief of BBC World wide Magazines told “ India was chosen as a market for launch of magazine, because it was learnt that Indians are travelling and spending much more now than before. It is estimated that by 2020, the average Indian will spend US $30 billion on travel”

  8. Regional market: As per EY’s report, “Out of the 20 most-read magazines in India, only 3 magazines are in English, while the remaining are in Hindi and other regional languages”

  9. Tamil Nadu is one of the biggest market for magazines. In Tamil Nadu, hundreds of periodicals are published in various languages including Tamil.

Tamil Readership Almost 100 periodicals are read by Tamil readers in various segments like General Magazines, Women magazines, Business Magazines, Personal Finance magazines, Spiritual magazines, Lifestyle magazines, Political and Investigative magazines, Wellness magazines, Medical journals, Literary magazines and weekly supplements of dailies etc.

  11. Business & Entrepreneurship magazines: Almost 20 Tamil magazines are available in the market to educate Tamil start ups. But still an untapped market is there for a professional entrepreneur magazine.

We can • get those advts. • Apart from that, Munaivu will get decent number of advertisements from Corporates, SMEs as well as Public Sector Units

  15. Profile: Thoorigai Publications is a partnership concern which has two partners namely S.Duraiarasu and M.Vijayalakshmi S.Duraiarasu: He is a 13 years experienced business journalist. Basically a B.Com graduate, he also has a PG Diploma in Labour Administration. Now he is pursuing his Company secretaryship course. He has worked with ThozhilUlagam Monthly, Dinakaran Daily (SUN TV Network), India Today (Tamil) and Maattram Monthly. He is actively writing business articles in various magazines like Business Economics and PuthiyaValviyal. He has good repot with the industry biggies and PR agencies. M.Vijayalakshmi: She is the life partner as well as business partner of S.Duraiarasu in Thoorigai Publications. Vijayalakshmi is a Economics graduate . She is having experience with Royal Sundaram Insurance, ICICI Prudential Life, Clarity PR and 5th Pillar (An Anti Corruption NGO).
