Know and understanding the statistical quality control techniques The main topics in this course are: Introduction to quality control ,quality improvement, cost of quality, control charts and process monitoring. Basics on Total Quality Control & Total Quality Management, The ISO 9000 Family of International Standards, control charts and process monitoring.

  4. What is the meaning of Industrial engineering ? What is the role of industrial engineering in today’s world? Industrial Engineering is concerned with design ,improvement, and Installation of integrated systems of men, materials , and equipment.

Quality Definition(s) Some of the definitions of the term “Quality”, provided are as follows: Quality is fitness for use (JURAN) Quality is conformance to requirements (CROSBY) The efficient production of the quality that the market expects (DEMING) Quality is what the customer says, it is (FEIGENBAUM) يعتبر أي منتج صناعي على درجة عالية من الجودة إذا كان تصنيعه يؤدي إلى تحقيق رغبات قطاع معين من المستهلكين و يلبي رغباتهم. يمكن أن نعرف جودة المنتج بأنها درجة وفاء المنتج لاحتياجات و رغبات المستهلك. كما تعرف الجودة بأنها مدى ملائمة مواصفات المنتج مع رغبات و متطلبات المستهلك.

  6. Dimensions of Product Quality As prescribed by Garvin, the eight dimensions of quality are: Performance (will the product do the intended job?) Reliability (how often the product fails?) Durability (how long the product lasts?) Serviceability(how easy is to repair the product?) Aesthetics (what does the product look like?) Features (what does the product do?) Perceived quality (what is the reputation of a company or its products?)

  8. Three Aspects of Quality The three aspects of quality and their linkages with each other have been depicted in the figure below:

  9. Quality of Design: Consumer's Perspective The product must be designed to meet the requirement of the customer. The product must be designed right first time and every time and while designing all aspects of customer expectations must be incorporated into the product. The factors need to consider while designing the product are:

  10. Quality of Conformance: Manufacturer's Perspective The product must be manufactured exactly as designed. The activities involved at this stage include: defect finding, defect prevention, defect analysis, and rectification. The difficulties encountered at the manufacturing stage must be conveyed to the designers for modification in design, if any. The two-way communication between designer and manufacturing may help to improve the quality of the product. Quality of Performance The product must function as per the expectations of the customer. The two way communication between designers and customer is the key to have a quality product.

  11. Quality control : Is the use of techniques and activities to achieve, sustain, and improve The quality of product or service. It involves integrating the following related techniques and activities:- 1- Specifications of what is needed 2- Design of the product or service to meet the specifications 3- Production or installation to meet the full intent of the specifications 4- inspection to determine conformance to specifications 5- Review of usage to provide information for revision of specifications if need

  12. رغبات المستهلك جودة التصميم جودة الأداء خصائص التصميم خصائص الإنتاج جودة التصنيع ما هي نقاط التدخل لضبط جودة المنتج ؟ في كامل المراحل الإنتاجية • المواصفات Specifications: و هذا بتحديد الخواص المهمة لجودة المنتج و الملبية لرغبات المستهلك, أما الباقي فأولويته ثانوية. • التصميم Design : وهذا بتصميم المنتج حسب المواصفات , كل إضافات (تحسينات) قد تكون مضيعة للوقت و المال. • مرحلة التصنيع Production : قم بتصنيع المنتج حسب التصاميم و المواصفات. • التفتيش عن الجودة Inspection للتأكد من مطابقة المنتج مع المواصفات و تصحيح المشاكل. • مراجعة المواصفات Review of Specifications: و هذا قصد مواكبة التطور في رغبات المستهلك.

Two aspects of quality control Off-line quality control On-line quality control Off-line quality control encompasses all those activities that are performed before the actual manufacturing of the product or service rendered On-line quality control activities start from the manufacturing of a product till it goes in the field and also after sale service. The quality tools used in the phase are Statistical Process control and Acceptance Sampling Importance of Quality Control Quality is vital in all areas of business, including the product development and production functions Cost of quality is ultimately reduced by investing money up front in quality design and development Typical costsof poor quality include downtime, repair costs, rework, and employee turnover Benefits of Quality Control A well-established, committed quality system in an organization will render the following benefits Improvement in the quality of product Higher productivity Cost reduction Continuous improvement in quality of product

  14. Statistical quality control (SQC): is a branch of quality control. It is the collection, analysis, and interpretation Of data for use in quality control activities Total Quality Management (TQM) is an approach that seeks to improve quality and performance which will meet or exceed customer expectations. This can be achieved by integrating all quality-related functions and processes throughout the company. TQM looks at the overall quality measures used by a company including managing quality design and development, quality control and maintenance, quality improvement, and quality assurance. TQM takes into account all quality measures taken at all levels and involving all company employees.

  15. الضبط المتكامل للجودةTotal Quality Control • إن جميع المراحل الإنتاجية للمنتج من تصميم , تصنيع , تخزين و توزيعه تؤثر في جودته . • من أجل ضمان جودة المنتج فلا بد من ضبط هذه العمليات و الأنشطة جميعها و هذا ما يعرف بالضبط المتكامل للجودة. • الضبط المتكامل (الشامل) لجودة الإنتاج هو عبارة عن نظام شامل و متكامل بواسطته يمكن تجميع عمل الوحدات المختلفة داخل المصنع التي تعمل في مجالات تطوير الجودة و تحسينها لضمان إنتاج المنتجات بدرجة مناسبة من الجودة ترضي رغبات المستهلك و بأقل التكاليف.

  16. Responsibility for Quality على من تقع مسئولية تحقيق الجودة في المنشأة الإنتاجية ؟ • أهو قسم التصميم؟ • أم قسم الإنتاج ؟ • أم التسويق ؟ • أم خدمات ما بعد البيع؟ • أم .... ؟

  18. إدارة الجودة الشاملة Total Quality Management تطور أنظمة الجودة لقد عرفت الجودة تطورات مهمة مع التقدم الصناعي و التكنولوجي المعاصر و بشكل خاص بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية. 2000

  19. التقنيات العملية لضبط الجودة مع التطور الذي عرفته أنظمة الجودة مع الوقت انبثقت عنها تقنيات و طرق عدة لضبط جودة المنتجات الصناعية. نذكر فيما يلي أهمها على المستوى الصناعي: • ضبط الجودة الإحصائي • Statistical Quality Control • التوزيع التكراري Histograms • خرائط التحكم للمتغيرات Control Charts for Variables • خرائط التحكم للخواص Control Charts for Attributes • ضمان الجودة عن طريق ضبط العمليات الإنتاجيةProcess Control • ضمان جودة المنتج النهائي عن طريق الفحص و الاختبار Inspection and Testing • ضمان الجودة عن طريق تطبيق مفهوم ادارة الجودة الشاملةTotal Quality Management. 2000 خطط الفحص و المعاينة Acceptance Sampling Plans
