  3. pioneer- a person who opens the way for others to follow http://www.maestravida.com/Zeb/MACAH77p.JPG Pioneer families had many struggles to overcome when searching for a better life.

  5. ascend– to go up or climb http://www.adventuretravel.ru/Pamir/kommunism92_93/borodkin_spur_ascend.jpg This mountain climber will have to ascend the mountain to reach the peak.
