  2. In the battle between streaming music providers, the ultimate victor is you and me, the customers. Homegrown Rdio (r-dee-oh) and Swedish import Spotify function based on a very simple idea: music everywhere, all the time. They both offer no cost streaming, social media support, mobile and offline support and a massive music collection. Which service delivers more value for your money? To make the selection simpler, we examine the details. • Free online music streaming, paid subscription ($5 for unlimited streaming and $10 for desktop), mobile and offline support, 12 million tracks and a 256 kb per second bit rate are advertised by Rdio. Spotify also offers free online streaming, paid subscription ($5 for ad-free streaming and $10 for desktop), mobile and offline support, more than 15 million tunes and 160 to 320 kbps bit rates. The two services feature the catalog of the four major record companies. Spotify is a touch more well-known than Rdio, despite the former’s later US launch.

  3. The two services have much more free customers than paid customers. It’s an interesting phenomenon. Consumers simply don’t want to purchase music and will hold on to their no cost subscription for as long as possible. Rdio capitalizes on this reality differently than Spotify. For half a year, Spotify premium code provides unlimited free streaming, but drastically lowers it to 10 hours per month from then on. The no cost service is covered by ads. You receive ad-free streaming on Rdio, but with unknown and “dynamic” time limitations. Your restriction is increased if you max out your use, and reduced (or not at all) if you hardly use the service. Get Spotify free streaming if you don’t mind ads and want the lengthiest unrestricted use. • Spotify knocks out Rdio in this round. It offers over 15 million songs (about 11 million licensed in the US), while Rdio features 11 million (and fewer licensed in the US). The two services block artists like Frank Zappa, The Beatles, AC/DC, Metallica and The Kinks, but you can access countless other independent and traditional labels. If you can’t locate a track on Rdio, you’ll likely find it on Spotify and vice versa.

  4. For a price, Rdio and Spotify’s allows you to carry songs offline and on the go. Most mobile operating systems are supported. Rdio and Spotify enables you to add your existing songs into their libraries using different methods. Spotify seamlessly adds your current tracks to its catalogue, whether or not the songs are not found in Spotify’s collection. Rdio merely locates tracks like the ones you own. When there’s no match, you can’t add or listen to tunes Rdio doesn't have. • Rdio is comparable to Spotify, meaning the best service depends on your preferenceRdio is similar to Spotify, which means the best service hinges on your needs. Spotify code is perfect for you if like simple local track integration, a massive catalogue and no cost streaming with adverts. Rdio is recommended if you'd prefer finding fresh artists quickly and don't like logging in to Facebook to use the service. But if you’re like us, who already possess a substantial iTunes-based selection and don’t want to invest $120 on music each year, you can simply choose to opt out.
