  2. Common and Proper Nouns • A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea. • A common noun names any person, place, thing or idea. Common nouns are not capitalized, unless they come at the beginning of a sentence. • Examples: • teacher baseball city

  4. ASSIGNMENT #1 • Write three (3)common nouns of your own on the worksheet. • Write a sentence with two of your nouns. • Write an exclamation with one of your nouns. • Underline each common noun.

  5. Proper Nouns • A proper noun names a particular person, place, thing, or idea. Proper nouns are always capitalized. • Examples: • Mrs. Hana Atlanta Braves New York

  7. ASSIGNMENT #2 • Write three (3) proper nouns. • Write a declarative sentence with one of your proper nouns. • Write an interrogative (?) sentence with one of your proper nouns. • Underline each proper noun.
