  8. Car Parking Permits (1) Devon County Council geographical area only • Currently, an exemption permit allows care workers and other health care staff to use on-street pay and display, limited waiting and residents parking for no charge if they are delivering essential services to residents in their own homes. • A Traffic Regulation Order proposes extending this exemption to include parking on single and double yellow lines – but only when alternative parking isn’t available. • The proposed extension of the scheme recognises that in some communities parking can be limited and can add to the stress of an already demanding job.

  9. Car Parking Permits (2) Devon County Council geographical area only • Devon County Council proposes to launch this enhanced scheme from this autumn-winter on a trial basis. This will allow care and health workers visiting people at home to additionally use yellow lines in certain circumstances for up to an hour. • The care or health professional will have to have made a reasonable effort to find alternative parking first, and park where it is safe to do so. • The vehicle must not cause an obstruction, block access or pose a danger to road users, for instance on a corner. • The scheme will be rolled out via Registered Managers, who will be responsible for applying for permits for their staff, taking permits back from leavers and re-allocating them to new staff.

  22. Funding Opportunity (2) • The grants fund period has been extended to June 2020.  All applicant projects to the fund must be completed and defrayed prior to 30 June 2020. • The grants fund has three aims: • To increase sufficiency in the ASC sector across Devon by supporting the market (including personal, residential and unregulated care) to grow; develop; and diversify, as appropriate. • To stimulate ‘edge of care’ outreach and prevention activities by: promoting and supporting independence; connecting people to their communities; keeping people healthier for longer; and thereby reducing the need for statutory intervention. • To encourage innovation; take-up of new technology; new delivery models; and partnership developments. ciag@devon.gov.uk
