  2. STEP 1 • Number your pages in your book 1 to 200 front and back. Put the number on the bottom right hand corner of each page. YOU MAY ONLY USE PENCIL FOR THIS STEP!!! • TAKE YOUR TIME - If you rush through this, you may miss number a page and have to go back and start all over.

STEP 4PAGE 3 Journal Expectations • I will bring my journal to class every day. • I will not leave my journal in the classroom. • I will take good care of it. • I will keep all pages and covers intact. • I will refrain from handling anyone else’s journal. • I understand the importance of being organized and able to study my notes and problems. • I understand my journal will be graded on any given day without advance notice. • I understand that if I am absent it is my responsibility to make sure my journal is complete.

  8. STEP 7 • PICK A PIECE OF RIBBON • ON THE INSIDE BACK COVER OF YOUR NOTEBOOK, MEASURE UP 6 CM FROM THE BOTTOM • TAPE THE RIBBON HERE-ONLY USE A SMALL AMOUNT OF TAPE. • THIS WILL BE YOUR BOOKMARK FOR BELLWORK

Remember… • IF YOU ARE ABSENT, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE NOTES FROM YOUR BOOK OR COPY SOMEONE ELSE’S NOTES FOR EACH SECTION YOU MISS!! • WRITE NEATLY & TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR JOURNAL! • DO NOT TEAR PAGES OUT • BE CAREFUL THAT THE FRONT & BACK COVERS STAY ON! • WE WILL USE OUR JOURNALS FOR NOTES, PRACTICE PROBLEMS (HOMEWORK), BELLWORK, AND STUDYING FOR TESTS • TITLE/DATE EACH ENTRY AND PUT THINGS IN THE RIGHT SECTION • JOURNALS WILL BE GRADED WITHOUT ADVANCE NOTICE!!

PENCIL & COLORED PENCIL ONLY! • THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE: BEFORE EACH TEST, HIGHLIGHT EVERY VOCABULARY WORD TO HELP YOU STUDY • YOU MAY WRITE ON THE BACKS OF THE PAGES IF THE WRITING ON BOTH SIDES IS LEGIBLE. • YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE YOUR JOURNAL IN CLASS EVERY DAY!!

  11. I WILL NOT SEARCH FOR YOUR WORK! EVERY ENTRY (NOTES, PROBLEMS, BELLWORK, ETC.) SHOULD BE DATED AND ENTERED IN THE TABLE OF CONTENTS. YOUR JOURNAL GRADE WILL REFLECT YOUR EFFORT IN KEEPING YOUR WORK ORGANIZED! ANY ITEMS LEFT OUT, NOT LABELED OR ENTERED OUT OF PLACE WILL LOWER YOUR GRADE.

GRADING RUBRIC • All writing legible 1 pt. • Table of contents complete and pages accurately reflect each entry 2 pts. • Notes complete 1 pt. • Practice problems complete 1 pt. • Brainwork complete 1 pt. • Any missed problems clearly marked and corrected 1 pt. • Vocabulary highlighted (before test) 1 pt.
