  15. Parent Volunteer Procedure Change To volunteer, volunteers are required to submit a volunteer form that needs to be signed by Dr. Greene. Volunteers who are not legal guardians must get a fingerprint clearance card from the state and submit the volunteer form.

  18. Esperanza’s Fifth Grade Homework Policy • Recommend 10 minutes per night, per grade level. This means that 5th graders would have 10 minutes X 5 (grade level) = 50 minutes total (including all subject areas) • Student is able to perform homework assignments independently • Homework is meaningful and appropriate for that day’s lessons or may introduce new content for future lesson • Homework promotes organizational skills • Homework develops fluency (accuracy and speed) for procedural knowledge • Homework helps students practice and deepen understanding of new knowledge • Spend no more than an hour. If it takes your child more than an hour, please stop them and write me a note saying they worked on it.
