  1. Lecture L3.3. The Academy of Wisdom and Enlightenment (AWE) Macroscopic & Microscopic Concepts www.AWE-edu.com L3.3 Macro & Micro Concepts

  2. The 10th Power To The 10th Power Seeing the World Through Lens From Macroscopic to Microscopic .

  3. Let’s buckle up! Starting from100 (That is one meter), we shall increase our distance by the power of 10, from 101 (10 meter), 102 (10x10 = 100 meter), 103 (10x10x10 = 1,000 meter), 104 (10x10x10x10 = 10,000 meter) and so on, until we reach cosmic macroscopic infinity. From our starting point, we shall travel upward quickly with a speed increasing by 10 to the positive power, stop and then move oppositely with a speed increasing by 10 to the negative power, until we finally reach a magical microscopic world. Please carefully observe the First Law of Thermodynamics, please also contemplate as humans how much more we need to learn about our universe...

  4. Are you ready? Bon Voyage!

  5. Zoom out 100 1 m In the garden, view of a leaf from 1 meter distance

  6. Zoom out higher 101 10 m At 10 meters high, we see a cluster of vegetation

  7. Zoom out higher and higher 102 100 m At this altitude, we see borders of the vegetation and a school

  8. Zoom out higher, higher… 103 1 km We now switch from meter to kilometer We will probably need parachutes from this altitude...

  9. Zoom out until view of city 104 10 km View of a entire city at this altitude, however, we are no longer able to see individual buildings.

  10. Now state of Florida 105 100 km View of Florida state of USA at this altitude

  11. Satellite view 106 1,000 km This is a typical satellite view of the state of Florida.

  12. Northern and Southern Hemisphere 107 10,000 km Parts of the Northern and Southern Hemisphere

  13. Earth getting smaller 108 100,000 km At this moment, the Earth is getting smaller and smaller...

  14. Moon’s Orbit 109 1 million km Orbit of the Moon around the Earth is represented by the white circle

  15. Earth’s Orbit 1010 10 million km Orbit of the Earth is represented by the blue arc

  16. Venus and Earth 1011 100 millionkm Orbit of Venus is represented by the green arc and orbit of the Earth is represented by the blue arc

  17. The other Orbits 1012 1 billionkm Mercury,Venus,Earth and Jupiter’s orbits

  18. The solar system… 1013 10 billionkm From this altitude,we can see the solar system and the orbits of the nine planets

  19. 10 to the power of 14 1014 100 billion km The solar system looks smaller from this altitude

  20. Solar system looks like a star 1015 100 billion km Now, the solar system looks just like one of the stars

  21. Solar system hard to see 1016 1 light year From the distance of one light year, the solar system looks very tiny

  22. Solar system not seen 1017 10 light years From this infinitude, we cannot even see the solar system

  23. Stars and nebula 1018 100 light years “There is nothing” all we can see is stars and nebula

  24. The Milky Way 1019 1,000 light years At this distance, we are now travelling in the Milky Way

  25. The Milky Way Tour 1020 10,000 light years We continue to tour the Milky Way

  26. Outskirts of Milky Way 1021 100,000 light years We are now at the periphery of the Milky Way

  27. Other Galaxies 1022 1 million light years From this far distance, we can see not only the milky way, but also other galaxies

  28. Universe and galaxies 102310 million light years At this distance, all the galaxies seem small and far from each other.Every part of the universe is governed by the same physical laws. We can continue to travel with our imaginations, but right now, let us hurry home

  29. Other Galaxies 1022 1 million light years From this far distance, we can see not only the milky way, but also other galaxies

  30. Outskirts of Milky Way 1021 100,000 light years We are now at the periphery of the Milky Way

  31. The Milky Way Tour 1020 10,000 light years We continue to tour the Milky Way

  32. The Milky Way 1019 1,000 light years At this distance, We are now travelling in the Milky Way

  33. Stars and nebula 1018 100 light years “There is nothing” All we can see is stars and nebula

  34. Solar system not seen 1017 10 light years From this infinitude, we cannot even see the solar system

  35. Solar system hard to see 1016 1 light year From the distance of one light year, the solar system looks very tiny

  36. Solar system looks like a star 1015 100 billion km Now, the solar system looks just like one of the stars

  37. 10 to the power of 14 1014 100 billion km The solar system looks smaller from this altitude

  38. The solar system… 1013 10 billionkm From this altitude,we can see the solar system and the orbits of the nine planets

  46. Now state of Florida 105 100 km View of Florida state of USA at this altitude.

  47. Questions? 104 Questions we ask ourselves.. Who are we? Where are we from? Where are we going?

  48. Our value 103 Or…What do we amount to in this universe?

  49. Down to102 102 During this travel, “Keep going up” took us as far as 1023

  50. Turn around 101 Now, we are turning to another direction to look down and inwards...
