How IT Started • Grandmaster flash was the first dj most people heard and got inspired by. • Turntablism didn't occur until about 1973 when the first djs of the Bronx showed what could be done with the turntable • The first Bronx djs were Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash and Kool Herc • The next djs steadily evolved after the potential was seen and became what it is today
DMC • DMC is an annual battle for djs • Each dj has a 6 minute routine • Every dj is battling each other • The dj with the best routine and most creative wins
