  1. Hebrews Part 4 “Christian Living”

  2. Make Peace Hebrews 12:14 Romans 12:18-19 “An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.” -MK GandhiThe Story of My Experiments With Truth

  3. “See To It” Hebrews 12:15-17 Matthew 28:18-20 “Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ.” --Dietrich Bonhoeffer

  4. Worship God Acceptably Hebrews 12:18-29 John 4:22 “It’s not that we don’t know how to worship, it is that we forget who we are worshipping.”

  5. “With Reverence and Awe” • The following truths are essential for proper Christian living… • God loves you deeply (John 3:16) • Jesus’ sacrifice is FULL atonement for your sin. • God hates sin! (Isaiah 53) • God is NOT your “pal”. (Isaiah 6) • Grace is NOT permission to keep sinning. (Titus 2) There is an awful misconception in modern religious thought—God is incapable of justice because he loves us so much.

  6. Love Each Other Hebrews 13:1 John 15:13 “I have decided to stick with love for hate is too great of a burden to bear.”--MLK

  7. Be Hospitable Hebrews 13:3-4 Romans 12:10-13 “Hospitality…sitting with gladness…” -Longfellow

  8. Honor Marriage Hebrews 13:4 “Marriage is so often underwhelming because it is so often undervalued. Like anything valuable it requires that we give more than we receive…that is the part that we don’t value.”

  9. Be Content Hebrews 13:5-6 Proverbs 12:9 “The thing about loving money is it never seems to love us back.”

  10. Respect/Obey Your Leaders Hebrews 13:7 and 17 “They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy and not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

  11. Conclusion of Hebrews • Jesus is superior to all…even the mighty angels, even the great Moses! • Jesus’ blood covenant is superior to the Old Testament, making it (the old) obsolete. • Our response should be superior faith/action. • Perseverance will be needed. • It is right for us to live a life that reflects our faith in the Supremacy of Jesus Christ. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” –Hebrews 13:8
