  2. The Departure

  3. 1. Call to Adventure Queen Elsa mistakenly reveals her powers, and people start accusing her of sorcery. Elsa is so upset that all of Arendelle freezes. Elsa runs away to the north mountain, and Anna must chase after Elsa to save the kingdom from an eternal winter, and to get her sister back.

  4. 2. Refusal of the Quest Being the strong young woman that Anna is, she never refuses to the quest, she is just nervous of being frozen because of the eternal winter.

  5. 3. Supernatural Aid Along Anna’s journey, there are a few supernatural aids. The first one she meets is an ice deliverer, Kristoff, and his reindeer Sven. They lead Anna to the north mountain and stay with her the entire journey. The second supernatural aid that Anna meets is Olaf the snowman. Elsa created Olaf when they were children, thus bringing back some memory to Anna of who Olaf is. Olaf goes on the journey, and ends up staying with Anna when she is on the verge of death. The third supernatural aid are the trolls, specifically “Grandpappy”, the king of the trolls. When Anna is a child and first gets struck by Elsa, he saves her life. Now on this journey, Grandpappy tells Anna what she needs to do to unfreeze her fragile heart.

  6. 4.Crossing the first Threshold Anna and Kristoff must find the castle and adjust to the weather. Finding the castle is a tough journey because Elsa went to the top of the north mountain, leaving her ice palace extremely hard to find.

  7. 5. Belly of the Whale Elsa tells Anna she needs to go home. Anna refuses and tells her sister that they can fix this together. Elsa then strikes Anna in the heart and Anna realizes she needs help and can’t turn back.

  8. The Initiation

  9. 6. Road of Trials Throughout this journey the amount of trials that are faced are almost unbearable. As Anna and Kristoff start on their quest, they are very first attacked by wolves. Anna fleeds them off, and Kristoff is nearly set on fire. Kristoff’s whole sled is ruined, leaving him not wanting to help Anna anymore. After this, Anna finds the castle and goes inside, telling Elsa she wants her to come home. Elsa refuses and tells them to leave and accidentally strikes Anna in the heart. When the crew will not leave, Elsa builds a snow monster to kick them out. Now Anna has to find an act of true love to thaw her frozen heart.

  10. 7. Meeting with the Goddess Anna meets Prince Hans of the Southern Isles and instantly falls for him. When she leaves on her quest, she leaves Hans in charge and wants to get home to him.

  11. 8.Woman as Temptress Anna is not tempted very easily because she wants to save her sister. Although, when she is struck in the heart she is tempted to just give up.

  12. 9. Atonement with the Father Anna faces the snow monster, and is about to face death, which completely overpowers her.

  13. 10. Apotheosis As Hans tries to kill Elsa, Anna steps in front and saves her sister. Since Anna was at the last point where her body couldn’t bare her frozen heart anymore, she froze into a statue. She goes into a physical and spiritual death, with no act of true love to save her.

  14. 11. The Ultimate Boon As Anna is frozen, Elsa begins to realize what she’s done. She’s killed her sister, and only true love could have saved her. Elsa starts to feel love when she’s realized what she’s done, and Anna’s heart, as well as Arenedelle, are completely unfrozen. Elsa’s act of true love towards her sister proved that any act of love could freeze a frozen heart. Elsa remains in Arendelle with her sister and learns to control her powers.

  15. The Return

  16. 12. Rescue from Without Anna needs true love, and later realizes that Kristoff is her one and only true love.

  17. 13. Crossing the Return Threshold Elsa learns to control her powers and make Arendelle an even better place to live. The sisters open up the gates again, and create a wonderful place, where everyone is free and safe again.

  18. 14. Freedom to Live Elsa controls her powers and everyone is now safe and happy in the kingdom of Arendelle. Anna’s heart is no longer frozen, and has a great relationship with her sister now.
