  2. Find a site • Find a site that will allow you to download free fonts. • Examples: • www.dafont.com • www.fontspace.com • Or search Google. • I will be using dafont.

  3. Selecting a Font • Select a font style from inside of the red box by clicking on the name. This is the style I used

  4. When you have found the style of font that you like find a font. You can customize your search so that you can preview how your words will look before you download the font. Advanced Computers

  5. A screen similar to this should pop up. Find a font, other than this one, that you like. When you have found a font that you like click on the download button. Click on the save button and save it to a file you can access easily.

  6. “X” out of your internet window. When the download is complete open the program. A screen such as this may appear. Click “allow.”

  7. After you open the folder you will see that it is in a compressed zipped folder. This means that you will need to extract the files in order to install them. Click on this. If this is checked it will show you the files after they are extracted from the compressed zipped folder. Make sure it is checked. Click “Extract”

  8. Once the True Type Font File is open you will need to click the install button Once the font is finished downloading, you can then “x” out of everything and test out your new font using Microsoft Word. At this time you will need to find a teacher who knows the password to continue downloading You will then need to open the True Type Font File.

  9. Once your start menu is open you will need open Microsoft Word To open word, start by opening your start menu.

  10. When Microsoft word is open, type a quick message before changing the font. Then click on the arrow to open your fonts menu Advanced Computers! Advanced Computers! Advanced Computers! After you select your font, the font of your message that you highlighted will change After the font menu has been opened, find and select the font you have just downloaded. Once you have typed your message, change the font. Begin by highlighting your message. Wa-La! Your are finished!
