  3. National Health Education Standards • 5.2.1 Identify situations when a health-related decision is needed. • Students will be able to recognize that there are multiple choices in any given situation.

  4. 5.2.2 Differentiate between situations when a health-related decision can be made individually or when assistance is needed. • Students will be able to recognize when adult help is need to make a decision.

  5. 7.2.2 Demonstrate behaviors that avoid or reduce health risks. • Students will be able to make healthy decisions when faced with a choice.

  6. 8.2.2 Encourage peers to make positive health choices. • Students will be able to help classmates make good health related decisions.

Would You Rather… • Would you rather… Have a candy bar or carrot sticks? • Would you rather… Laugh all day or sing all day? • Would you rather… Win a game or make a friend? • Would you rather… Go to the zoo or aquarium? • Would you rather… Be able to stop time or fly? • Would you rather… Be invisible or read minds? • Would you rather… Meet an alien visitor or travel to outer space?

Decisions • What do you think a decision is? • Decision: When you have two or more choices and you must pick one. • How do you make a choice? • Do you pick the one your mom or dad would want you too? • Do you pick the one that your friends chose? • Do you pick the one that makes you happy? • Do you pick the one that keeps you out of trouble?

  10. Situations • You are on the playground and somebody is picking on your friend… • You could pick on your friend too. • You could find an adult to help her or him. • You are in the Cafeteria and someone stole your lunch… • You could steal someone else’s. • Ask friend to help you find it.

  11. You find a dollar… • You can keep it. • You can turn it in to the office. • You are walking home and a person you don’t know offers you a ride. • You can take the ride. • You can say no thank you and hurry home.

  12. Your classmate tells you a secret that someone is hurting them and asks you not to tell… • You can keep the secret to yourself • You can tell an adult you trust. • You are playing a game and your team is losing. • You can get upset and cheat. • You can try harder and encourage your teammates.

  13. In the hall someone is calling you names. • You can call that person names back. • You can ask that person to stop.

  14. I can make good decision pages • Everybody makes mistakes
