The genre of this film is action. Its clear as from the opening of the scene we see spider man flying which is inhumanly and not natural so its an action packed movie filled with superheroes. Key connotation key conventions used is its dramatic and action packed. It has the flying, police chasing him, the angery public and the uniform to represents his character. All these things make it clear that its engaging and aimed to create action and excitement.
How many characters are introduced and what do we know about them? How do we know this about them from the use of technical aspects?
At first we are introduced to what we connotes the main character. From a technical aspect we know he is dressed in a red and blue suit which covers his face so we are unaware of what his body and face looks like. This makes it hard to see his facial expression and create more of an imaginary. We are introduced to him from a bird eye view which shows us a badge on his back of a spider which suggest his status of being spider man and to make people aware of it. We also see him in high key lighting so its obvious to recognise him and get a full insight into the action that is happening around us. We are briefly introduced to a van driver we is anger, probably due to the fact the police are trying to chase Spiderman and stop him so the van is stuck in traffic. When the man and Spiderman interact we can clearly see the man doe not want to talk to him and tells him to go away. Eventually the man gets a gun out and tries to shoot Spiderman, the scene then ends of that.
It was a scene that draws attention in but it doesn’t give a lot away. That may be done in an effective way and it starts of slightly boring but then allows room for the action to be built later on. It sets the setting and the location of the city and introduces the main character which is successful.
