  1. Summer University 2008 678 young people participated in the Summer University last year.

  2. Most students enrolled on courses were female. Gender breakdown is + 63% females. This compares to a gender split in Calderdale of + 4% males. Students ranged from 10 to 20 years with the most common age being 15 years.

  3. 4.4% of participants indicated that they had a disability.               Participants indicated their ethnicity as; Calderdale figures: ONS - Age 0-15 2006 MYE

  9. Percentage of participants from deprived areas completing the course. Overall in Calderdale 91% of participants completed the course they were enrolled on. Below shows that participants from the Neighbourhood Management areas are less likely to successfully complete the course.

  10. Has the course helped you to make career, Higher or Further Education choices? Students completing courses were asked to give feedback on their experience of Summer University. More young people from deprived areas than in Calderdale overall say that participating in the Summer University has definitely helped them to make future career, higher or further education choices.
