Many ways to give back • Today we will introduce you to just a few of the ways you can give back to support students throughout Los Angeles County and beyond. • The opportunities we will cover include: • 1. Academic Bowl / Student Worker Program – Eric Hass • 2. Operation Graduation – Keith Crafton • 3. Very Special Arts Festival / Academic Decathlon – Bill Deegan • 4. Road to Success Academy / Division of Student Programs – Allison Deegan • We will also provide you with details on how to volunteer and provide time for questions and discussion.

Why give back? • Payoffs from getting involved: • Learning – new professional and personal skills, new knowledge about LACOE programs and students • Experience – put it right on you resume and promotion applications, plus offer experience/expertise you already have • Networking – meet new people from LACOE and beyond • Personal Satisfaction -- helping your community and the world

Very special arts festival • 85 School Busses converging on Downtown Los Angeles • Nearly 2000 Student Artists and Entertainers preparing for a year • Nervous, excited, proud…ecstatic! • Thousands of Educators, Administrators, Drivers and Volunteers • What’s going on? • Where are we going? • Get ready to be entertained and to have your mind blown • You’d better bring tissues and be prepared for your heart to soar
