In this engaging drama activity, students pair up to select a story with significant dramatic potential. They will spend 25 minutes transforming their chosen story into a dramatic scene, ensuring to put both partners' names on the document. One partner will email the final piece to the instructor. For homework, students will reflect on how writing for the stage differs from writing short stories or novels, and what a dramatist must do differently. They will also read the Oedipus myth and write a half-page response. Bring the Oedipus copy for class tomorrow!
