  4. a. Selects a focus, organizational structure, and a point of view based on purpose, genre expectations, audience, length, and formal requirements. PLO: Students will complete a graphic organizer for an acrostic poem using only words.

  5. Acrostic Poetry • Does not have to rhyme • Chosen word or topic is written vertically down the page • Each line begins with that letter • Word or phrase for each letter describes topic

  6. Prewriting • Use a graphic organizer • Brainstorm • Choose several words that can be used for each line • Spelling and grammar not important

  15. Writing Stage- Drafting • Getting your ideas down using your graphic organizer • Make you have accurate meaning to content • Do not worry about spelling • Getting it ready for revising and editing
