  1. Effect Of Soap On Fish BY: IESTYN I DWANTARSHAD

  2. Introduction • Chemistry is the study of the composition, structure, and properties of substances or materials form atomic to molecular scale and their interaction also transformation to from materials that are found daily. • Soap is a surfactant that is used with water for washing and cleaning

  3. Objective • Knowing what happens when the fish entered into water mixed with soap. • And find out how much time it takes until the fish react.

  4. Hypothesis • Fish would die less than 10 minutes. I think the fastest soap that would kill fish is Lux soap.

  5. Materials and Tools • Nuvo Soap • Lux Soap • Giv Soap • Lifebouy Soap • Glass • Water • Stopwatch • Fish

  6. Soap Formula • CH3-(CH2)in-COOH+Na  CH3-(CH2)n-COONa

  7. Procedure • First fill the water into the glass • Then cut the soap, and then destroy the piece of soap, and put it into the water.

  8. Procedure • Then stir, and put the fish to the glass. Wait the time that required until the fish is dead.

  9. Result

  10. Result

  11. Analysis • It turns out, the Giv soap is the fastest soap that killed a fish. Because in Giv there’s Sulfur Laureth Sulfate content. These substances are commonly found in detergents

  12. Conclusion • Apparently when the fish entered into the soapy water, the fish will try to get out of the glass, but at the end the fish will die of poisoning. • The time needed was less than 10 minutes.

  13. Mengapa ikan mati di dalam air sabun • Karena sabun susah larut di dalam air, sehingga membuat ikan kehabisan oksigen di dalam air.
