  2. Introduction Types 2 Diabetes is also known as diabetes mellitus, and is a chronic disease in which the blood glucose level increases in your blood. The hormone, insulin helps in moving the blood sugar to the body cells where it gets utilized. And in case, when the person is suffering from Type 2 Diabetes, the body cells do not respond to the insulin and hence are not able to utilize the blood sugar which in turn raises its level in the blood stream.

  3. Stress or Stressful Life Those who suffer from excess stress or those who are not able to maintain work-life balance might fall prey to a stressful life. Stress can not only disturb the blood sugar level, but can also cause other health related issues.

  4. Genes It has been found in many studies that the genes or a part of DNA might be responsible for turning the body cells into insulin resistant cells. This results increased blood glucose level.

  5. Obesity Due to increased weight, against the body cells might develop resistance to insulin. This condition generally develops at middle age. However, sometimes overweight children or teenagers might also become prone to Type 2 Diabetes.

  6. Gestational Diabetes Some of the women develop gestational diabetes during pregnancy. However, this goes away with the pregnancy in most of the cases.
