Exam Administration • Training Exam Proctors • Exam proctoring sessions prior to the test • Reviewing proctoring guidelines • Training Interlocutors for Speaking Exams • familiarizing interlocutors with test content andprocedures • reviewing interlocutor guidelines • clarifying interlocutor roles and responsibilities

ASSESSING SPEAKING • Core group • Standardization session prior to the exam • Familiarizing markers with test criteria • Viewing benchmarking videos • Discussion of the grades & justification • Standardization session (a recent approach) • Sample videos are uploaded on the IUE Moodle platform • Part-tests are conducted • Instructors input their grades in the Moodle platform • Results are analyzed by the Testing Unit • Follow-up session with the instructors who need further input

  4. ASSESSING WRITING • Core group • Standardization session prior to the test • Reviewing grading guidelines • Grading samples (one – each level) • Discussion of the grades & justification • Grading • Providing graded samples • Double grading & grade compilation • Third grading - if there is a discrepancy of more than 3 pts (out of 20) • Follow-up: Inter-rater reliability studies
