  • Physical changes are easy to identify. If only the form of a substance changes you have observed a physical change.
  • An example of a physical change occurs when making a baseball bat. Even though the wood has changed shape, the chemical nature of the wood has not been changed.

Chemical ChangeDuring a chemical change, substances are changed into different substances. In other words the composition (what the object is made of) changes.
