Academic Registry The Academic Registry is: • a key support unit, working closely with all academic areas and interacting with other support units; • responsible for academic and student administration and is structured into four operational areas, each headed by an Assistant Registrar; • headed by the Academic Registrar who is supported by the Academic Registry Administrator.

  4. Academic Registrar's Office The Administrator, Rowena Kidger, supports each member of the Registry Management & Planning Team (RMPT) and coordinates Academic Registry activities and events. Rowena is also responsible for the Academic Registry web site.

  5. Assessment & Awards Assessment & Awards is responsible for supporting the student examination and assessment process, examining boards and the degree and diploma awards ceremonies. We have Degree (UW) Ceremonies in July and a London School of Commerce (LSC) ceremony in February. We have Diploma (UWIC) Ceremonies in November. The main exam period is in the summer with re-sits in late August/September. The main Examining Board periods are in June, following the May examinations and again in September following re-sits, although some Boards do meet at other times.

  6. Management & Information Systems (MIS) MIS is responsible for the student data at UWIC; it has a key responsibility for government funding and statistical returns as well as being the lead user for our student information systems.

  7. Enrolment & School Liaison Enrolment & School Liaison is responsible for the enrolment and re-enrolment (including “fast-track”) of students. It provides documentation confirming student status, determines fee status and - through its School Registry Officers based in UWIC’s Schools - is responsible for assignment collection and support of Schools’ student and assessment processes.

  8. Regulations & Research Regulations & Research takes lead responsibility for Academic Appeals, cases of Unfair Practice and UW and UWIC regulations. It is responsible for the Academic Handbook.
