  5. What did you observe about the food, clothing, and shelter of the Hopi Indians?Where did they live? How did that impact the way in which they lived?

  6. Food • Gathered nuts, berries, and roots • Grew corn, squash, and beans • Hunted deer, wild game, and turkey

  7. Clothing • Men wore breechcloths made from animal hides or plant materials • Women wore dresses made form animal hides or plant materials • Moccasins made from leather

  8. Shelter • Chickees which were open sided and had a roof • Built above 3 feet off the ground to keep from flooding • Wigwams
