  1. It’s ALL about God birthday sermon

  2. Stoicism 禁欲(主義),克己,平然,冷静 strictly restrain their emotions in order to attain happiness and wisdom; hence, they refused to demonstrate either joy or sorrow. Milestones of faith

  3. Stoicism Worked for God David Event Body of Christ Milestones of faith

  4. 1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. 3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. Philippians 2

  5. I have needs. • I know my needs. • I can not meet those needs myself. • I have to admit my needs. • I have to allow my needs to get met. The Needs Factor in Relationships

  6. Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh– though I myself have reasons for such confidence.   If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless. (Philippians 3:2-6) Not something you do by yourself

(Philippians 3:2-6) Not something you do by yourself

  8. I once thought all these things were so very important, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I may have Christ and become one with him. I no longer count on my own goodness or my ability to obey God’s law, but I trust Christ to save me. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. As a result, I can really know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I can learn what it means to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that, somehow, I can experience the resurrection from the dead! (Philippians 3:7-11) The Needs Factor in Relationships

  10. Jeremiah 1:5      "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,         And before you were born I consecrated you;         I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." Proverbs 3:32         For the devious are an abomination to the LORD;         But He is intimate with the upright. Psalm 139:3       You scrutinize my path and my lying down,         And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.

  11. Jeremiah 1:5      "Before I formed you in the womb I knew [Yada] you,         And before you were born I consecrated you;         I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." Proverbs 3:32         For the devious are an abomination to the LORD;         But He is intimate [Sod] with the upright. Psalm 139:3       You scrutinize my path and my lying down,         And are intimately [Sakan] acquainted with all my ways.

  12. Yada: intimate knowning Sod: to reveal, vulnerable disclosure Sakan: to be of use, service, profit – caring involvement Jeremiah 1:5      "Before I formed you in the womb I knew [Yada] you,         And before you were born I consecrated you;         I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." 15. Selfishness (Philippians 2:3 ) • Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves • Self-reliance (Revelation 3:17) • Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, • Self-Condemnation (Romans 8:1) • Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Wrong Responses to The Needs Factor

  16. Gratitude instead of “self-condemnation” •  (2 Corinthians 9:15) • Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! • Humility instead of “self-reliance” • (Philippians 2:3 ) • Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves • Faith instead of “selfishness” • (Ephesians 1:18 ) • I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, Correct Responses to The Needs Factor

  17. Love  (1 John 4:18, 19) There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. • Inner Man focus (I Samuel 16:7) The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." • Acceptance (Matt 10:8b ) Freely you have received, freely give Becoming a “Needs Meetor”
