The enduring theme of Judges is God’s final action—His grace—and His perpetual willingness to rescue his people

SIN IS WHAT WE DO WHEN WE AREN’T SATISFIED WITH God’S GRACE AND PROVISION • God allows His people to sin and to suffer the consequences of their sin because He loves us and even uses our sin as a spiritual wake up call.
First Hand Faith - 6:11-24 • - The Promise of Yahweh’s Presence v.11-16 • The promise is wrapped up in one boring preposition – “WITH” • Gideon is learning to practice the “withness” of Yahweh

The Paradoxical Response to Yahweh’s Presence v. 22-24 • “There is nothing amazing about grace as long as there is nothing fearful about holiness.” Dr. Davis • A real awareness of God brings holy fear, but it should also bring peace.
Gideon’s First Faith Barrier 6:25-32 • God’s Demand • 1). Deal with specific sin, the source of their misery • 2). Total destruction, leave no provision for the flesh. • 3). Build a new altar for the worship of Yahweh.
Sin reflects a problem of worship – If we don’t trust and worship God we give our hearts to other things. • Gideon’s Obedience v. 27 • Fear is a signal to step out in faith.
