  3. How will climographs help? A CLIMOGRAPH shows the following information for a particular location: latitude & longitude; elevation; mean (average) monthly temperature in °C or °F; and mean (average) precipitation in centimeters or inches.

  4. DIRECTIONS: Read the clues on the screen. Match the locations to one of the 14 climographs your group has. Show your Location guesses to your teacher. Keep all clue slips safe.

  5. Location #1 • This city lies 50° north of the Equator. • No month receives more than 10 cm of precipitation. • July appears to be the warmest month. • This city has an elevation greater than 200 m.

  6. Location #2 • The longitude of this city is 29° from the International Date Line. • July through December see monthly precipitation of less than 10 cm. • June, July, and August are the coolest months. • The elevation of this city is just over 40 m.

  7. Location #3 • Monthly precipitation is nearly nonexistent. • The elevation of this location exceeds 10 m. • Found in the Southern Hemisphere, this city is more than 75° from the Prime Meridian. • February and March appear to be its warmest months.
