  3. TRP#7 – First-professionals • Held February 23-24, 2004 • Charge: To examine how the first-professional category is used in IPEDS and whether it needs to be changed • Focus group session – Wed 9am Jeff Weber, NCES Senior Fellow

  4. TRP#7 – First-professionals - continued • Possible suggestions: • Expand to include emerging fields such as physical therapy and audiology • Eliminate the category altogether and have degrees reported in other levels (M.D. = doctor’s degree) • Modify definition • Concern is loss of trend data

  5. TRP#6 – Derived variables • Held February 4-5, 2004 • Charge: Review list of derived variables that will be added to DAS, peer tool • Focus group session - Wed 10am with John Milam

  6. TRP#5 and #5.5 – Planning for 2004 and beyond • #5 – October 7-8, 2003 • #5.5 – December 8-9, 2003 • Followup to TRP#2, Community Colleges, and TRP#3, IPEDS Jeopardy • Charge: Review data collected by IPEDS and make suggestions for the future
