  4. What if… … all students were motivated? … all students were engaged? … all students were ready for college and career? … all students earned some college credit? … all students could communicate? Collaborate? Think critically? Creatively solve problems?

What if… • Student grew 77% more in higher order thinking skills between freshmen and senior years than comparison group. • Students graduated high school at a 95% rate, 6% greater than the national average. • Students enrolled in college at a rate 9% greater than the national average, regardless of locale. • Students persisted at college at rates higher than the national averages, including 91% at 4-year colleges and 71% at 2-year colleges.

  18. Training & Coaching Team of five trainer/coaches (being coached, themselves, by New Tech Network) In-district coaching for [at least] 11 districtsand 2 BOCES Our coaches 1000+ educators trained Leadership support at meetings, dedicated training, and coaching

Business & Community Partnerships October 17th “Making Connections” Event Businesses shared the problems they work on and the projects they do Teachers “pitched” projects, looking for authenticity and feedback on their projects Greater Central New York Education andBusiness Consortium project

  21. PBLNY – The Event • PBLNY 2014 was a success! • PBLNY 2015 is scheduled for August 3-4-5 • Planning for 500 participants • National leaders (keynotes & endnotes) • Dozens of sessions • Holiday Inn, Liverpool • Registration now active

  22. CNY New Tech High School “South” • Multiple districts servingsouthern part of OCM BOCES region • To be located in Cortland area • Opening September 2016 • Beginning with grades 9 & 10 • Adding grades 11 & 12 in subsequent years
