  3. ALL OF US!!

  4. Our Logo • Our logo symbolises that we are all pieces of the same jigsaw. • It also symbolises that we must all co-operate and join together. • Lastly it shows that global issues should be at the forefront of our minds.

  5. Our Mission/Vision Statement • To ensure that young people become better informed about global issues. • To develop and nurture positive and effective action amongst young people. • To promote and establish the ideal All Different All Equal and make it a key part of our culture. • To create an atmosphere of respect and solidarity. • To work and share with others in order to sustain a peaceful future.

  6. Our Definitions and Key Focuses • Conflict A clash/difference of opinions. Conflict can be ideological, verbal or physical. • Injustice   Something wrong or unfair. Not always concerning the law. • Global Citizenship Being aware of the world and what is happening. Connecting with people around the world to make it a better place.

  7. Our Global Issue...... WE WANT TO WORK TOGETHER TO ENSURE THAT PALESTINIANS ARE GRANTED EQUALITY AND THAT THEY TOO ARE GUARANTEED THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS UNDER THE TERMS OF THE UNDHR.

  8. Preparation • We used schoolsacrossborders.org to explore many resources. Some of these resources were about our topic whilst others dealt directly with the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis. • We invited speakers to come and talk to us about their work in places like the Gaza Strip.

  9. OUR VISITORS Fatin and Akef

  10. What we found out...... • Israeli settlement policy constitutes a continuing breach of international law. The settlements violate the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. • Violence against Palestinian people and property is on the rise and needs to end. • Action is needed to lift the continuing blockade of the Gaza Strip.

  11. Our Awareness Day • We gave presentations that taught about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and how it affects people today. • We gave short presentations about how Mount Temple encourages global citizenship in TY- we spoke about Schools Across Borders, our Ghana trip, YSI and our local volunteering programmes.

  12. Our Awareness Day • We played games to reinforce the learning and held a table quiz with prizes. • We had two art stations where we asked pupils to use art as a medium to communicate how they felt about global citizenship and the topics they had learned about.
