  1. Mt. Merapi

  2. Preliminary Question • How did the appearance of Mt. Merapi change after its eruption on Oct. 26, 2010? Picture of Mt. Merapi taken from a NASA space shuttle

  3. Collecting and Compiling data • We have used Gateway to Astronaut Photography help us gather our image data here is an image link for ex. ISS007-E-13327 • We have also used other sources of photography to find ground base and satellite images like http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=46975

  4. Our Hypothesis • Hypothesis - There will be no significant changes to the appearance of Mt. Merapi since its eruption on Oct. 26, 2010

  5. Displaying Data • After compiling our data we organized it in chronological order • We made observations for each image and in most of the images we concluded that there were not very many changes to Mt. Merapi • We compared changes from previous imagesto later images to see if Mt. Merapi was changing as it got closer to its eruption

  6. Analyze and Interpret Data • While looking through our data we weren’t seeing very much change in Mt. Merapi’s physical structure. • We have seen changes in the Mt. Merapi’s plume size and direction the plume is going and the surrounding area around Merapi

  7. Our Conclusion • By compiling all our data together, In our conclusion we agree with our hypothesis "There will be no significant changes to the appearance of Mt. Merapi since its eruption on Oct. 26, 2010." At least From what we study we have seen very little change in Mt. Merapi's features from the images and other information we have studied.
