  2. The nearest city • The nearest city to Mt. Meakandake is moasharo, Japan.

  3. The location • Mt. Meakandake is located at 43.4, 144. • It is on the Philippine plate.

  4. The volcano • Mt. Meakandake is a stratovolcano that has explosive eruptions but the latest ones have been small. The last eruption was in 2006.

  5. Eruptions • April 8th, 1954 • November 19th, 1955 • May 19th, 1956 • June 15th, 1956 • November 9th,1998 • Last one in 2006

  6. Surrounding area • The surrounding area has many caldera lakes. People use these as hot springs and it is a resort for them.

  7. It’s eruption • The eruptions are possible to be predicted by smoke rising. • The last eruption sent mud down the side. (lahar) • It has pyroclastics all around the sides when it erupts. • It also spews ash out when it erupts. • This volcano emits sulfur oxide when erupts. • Basalt from eruptions makes up much of the mountain.
