Greater Western Sydney (GWS) region - highest number (26,000) of Indigenous Australians outside of the Northern Territory The unemployment rate for Indigenous Australians in GWS is 2.5 times the unemployment rate than non Indigenous Australian and 58% of Indigenous Australians in GWS are less than 24 years of age Australian Population Census 2006

  3. To improve the employment prospects of UWS Indigenous Australian students/graduates To assist UWS Indigenous Australian students to gain access to meaningful, degree-relevant work experience To engage with the Indigenous Australian community Aims of the Indigenous Uni to Work Program
