  2. Realities we Face Current fiscal challenges will likely remain for next 5-10 years. We need to focus on ways to produce higher achievement with equal or lower cost than the present system. We need to do a better job of taking what we know works, and implementing it in our schools and classrooms. We need to be more intentional in supporting the implementation of evidence-based practices

  4. State management team A state management team was created to assist in braiding MiBLSi with other state initiatives and to navigate policy and procedural barriers that might inhibit efficient implementation across the cascading systems of supports.

Michigan's Integrated Improvement Initiatives (MI3) • A system of improvement initiatives supported by the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services. • MI3 links IDEA mandated initiatives through increased cooperation and integration of efforts in the areas of • marketing and communication, • project management, • evaluation, • fiscal management, • effective implementation of evidence-based practices.

  8. Alignment with District Mission The Grand Haven Area Public Schools are committed to the expectation that all students will learn. It is our obligation to provide each student in our community a positive environment for learning so they will experience success and realize their fullest potential. This school district accepts the responsibility to work in partnership with the community to provide an excellent education that will prepare all learners for the challenges of a changing global society.

  9. We find it helpful to create policy statements around categories of selection for educational practice Standard Practices are those used regularly as part of on-going educational efforts. Emerging Practices are ideas, curricula, programs, or procedures that have a reasonable likelihood to improve the core outcomes of education in schools in the LEA, but have not yet met the criteria to be a Scalable Practice. Scalable Practices are innovations that have sufficient practical verification and scientific validation to warrant the large-scale investment needed to transform these practices into Standard Practice within [LEA] schools.
