Westphalia

DESCRIPTION

Westphalia is renowned for its machine, coal, iron, and metal industries, but it also boasts a rich culinary heritage. Explore classic "inland" cuisine, particularly the energy-rich dishes that define this region. Try making traditional Reibekuchen (potato pancakes) with simple ingredients: 5 lbs of white potatoes, 4 medium yellow onions, 4 eggs, and sunflower oil. Coarsely grate the potatoes and onions, season, drain, mix with eggs, and fry until crispy. Don’t forget to savor the famous Sauerbraten, a sour bread dish, for a true taste of Westphalia!
