  2. Cables • Check cables regularly for kinks, bends and worn out ends. • Especially check ends. If you see any of the mentioned problems, replace immediately. • Do not ignore it till later time, as if the cable breaks during a journey, the result can be hazardous.

  3. Carburator • Keep the carburator clean. • Every 1500 km, get the carburator float chamber and other parts cleaned.

  4. Spokes • Check if the spokes are tight enough. • If loose, tighten them or get them tightened. • Also, check for the bent spokes. • If a bent spoke is found, get a new spoke fitted. Do not try to straighten old spokes.

  5. Engine Oil • Always use the correct recommended grade of engine oil.  • Make sure the oil is in sufficient quantity. • You can check the quantity of oil with a dipstick or inspection window.

  6. Spark Plug • Clean the spark plug at regular intervals. • Clean the spark points/electrodes with emery paper (sand paper) and innards with some aluminum wire. • After this, wash with petrol.

  7. General Tips • Ensure correct air pressure in tyres as per the owner’s manual. • Ensure the chain is tightened. • Check all bulbs. Replace all fused ones. • Ensure that front fork (shock absorber) is not leaking. If it is, replace oil seals.

  8. Insurance • Always ensure that your Insurance cover (Insurance policy) is within validity period. • Keep an Insurance policy copy in bike ALWAYS.
