  10. Procedure for…Getting My Attention • Raise your hand • Then “post” your help sign • I will address you ASAP. • Please remember that there is only one of me and I will get to you as soon as I possibly can.

  11. Procedure for…RANGER marks Ranger marks are used as a discipline program in middle school. I have high expectations for you academically and behaviorally. It works like this: • You are given a RANGER chart for your agenda. • Students are asked to follow these guidelines: • Respect others, my teacher and myself • Arrive to class prepared with all necessary materials and on time. • Noise level appropriate for activity. • Great attitude! • Engaged in class work or discussions. • Responsible behavior…you are 7th grade students, show it! • Supplies and Materials…supplies, homework, etc. • 0-2 Marks = Weekly Reward • 3-4 Marks = No Reward, Call Home, Teacher Meeting • 5+ Marks = Automatic Office Referral

  12. “CHAMPS” • C = Conversation • H = Help • A = Activity • M = Movement • P = Participation • S = Success • You will receive RANGER marks if CHAMPS guidelines are not followed! • You may also lose PAT points for minor problems.

  13. “PAT” Points • PAT Points is a reward system for the whole class. • You can “gain” or “lose” points for behavior in class. • After you earn a predetermined number of PAT points, the whole class will receive a reward (determined by me). • Examples of PAT points: • Being helpful to one another (+) • yelling out the answer without being called on (-) • All PAT points are at the “teacher’s discretion”. It’s best NOT to ask for PAT points.

  14. Procedure for…Restroom Breaks and Behavior • Restroom Misbehavior is UNACCEPTABLE! • Possible Consequences: • Loss of PAT points • RANGER Marks • Discipline Referral • Loss of restroom privileges • Contact parents

  15. Procedure for…Cafeteria Behavior • Cafeteria will be highly monitored this year to eliminate foul language, cell phone abuse, food fights, etc.! • Possible Consequences: • Loss of PAT points • RANGER Marks • Discipline Referral • Loss of restroom privileges • Contact parents

  16. Procedure for…Dress Code and Cell Phones • I will post these in the room. • Dress Code • Cell Phone Policy

  17. Create Slides • Bloom’s Taxonomy (Content PP) • Discuss Constructed Response Questions (Content PP) • ORQ versus Short Answers
