  1. Types of Mobile Robots

  2. Mobile Robot: A mobile robot is a robot capable of moving around by navigating through an uncontrolled environment with or without the need of physical or electro-mechanical guidance system. In order to do the mobile motion, it relies either on guidance devices such as sensors or physical devices that allow them to travel a pre-defined navigation route in relatively controlled space.

  4. Non - Autonomous Mobile Robots These types of robot require some sort of guidance system or instructions to make a mobile motion. These are following types: Autonomous Guided Vehicle (AGV) Rail Guided Vehicle (RGV) Fork-lift

  5. Autonomous Mobile Robots Also known as AMR, these achieve motion with the help of sensors that does not requires human interventions. These also makes Artificial Intelligence come into the picture. Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) are further classified into following categories based on the way these robots are used: Good-To-Picking Picking Assist Autonomous Mobile Robots Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) Sorting Robots
